Obfuscate the entry ID where visible to the user
Entry IDs increment with each new submission. GravityView allows a user to see an entry's ID (in the URL when directly linked), therefore an observant user can identify the total number of entries. Additionally, they can identify how many entries have been submitted within a certain span of time, given two or more and knowledge of the dates they were submitted.
This is not really acceptable in a business environment when entries correspond to orders placed. This information provides too much insight into a company's sales volume. We should have the ability to keep this information hidden from the user.
1 voteThank you for this idea and the very good points you make it it.
I just wanted to make sure you were aware that this functionality was added in Version 1.4 in late October.
Thanks,

Include Wordpress audio player for uploaded audio files.
Have the ability to place a field that will play an embedded audio file that is uploaded via File Upload in Gravity Forms. Currently is just links to an audio file and play in a separate window.

Add the ability to send e-mail to user at different steps of the process (Receive, in progress, Finished...) Can be automated with logic case...
24 votesThis is a follow-up to GravityView suggestion to allow emailing based on entry status. It is possible to email users during different stages by following steps in these articles:
- https://docs.gravitykit.com/article/485-email-notify-entries-updated-gravity-forms
Also, our plugin GravityActions allows you to bulk-email users at any time from the Gravity Forms Entries page. Read the doc for bulk emailing.

Add a link to Form Entries from Edit View screen and WP bar
It takes multiple steps to view (and approve) entries (Dashboard > Forms > Form used in View > Entries) and I find I often want to go to the Entries page from the Edit View screen. A link from the Edit View screen to the entry listings of the form associated with that view would be very helpful. Also, it would be great to have that link at the top WP bar (where is now has "Edit View") as well.
2 votesForm links have been added Edit View in Version 1.2, coming soon.
Thanks!

Allow payment response data to be part of the GV fields
When using GF with a payment gateway, we receive approval/decline and confirmation number from the gateway, e.g.:
Payment Status: Approved
Payment Date: 2014/08/28 at 7:45 am
Transaction Id: XXXXXXXXXIt would be great if GV could pick up those fields as well as the actual form data.
2 votesThis was added to GravityView in 1.1.6, released on September 8.
Thanks!

Add conditional show/hide functionality at the column level
We can show/hide rows conditionally in Gravity View, but GF allows for field-level visibility by conditions. It would be nice if that same logic could be applied to the single-record view of GV
10 votesHello, Zack here from GravityView.
Conditionally showing and hiding fields was proposed in 2014. I’m pleased to report that we added support for field conditional logic in Version 2.1 of our Advanced Filtering extension!
You can read a doc about how it works here: https://docs.gravityview.co/article/753-field-conditional-logic
It’s really slick, I hope you get lots of use from it!

Add the ability to create columns in views. I would like to be able to display views that contained columns, not just rows.
The default view contains two columns in the header and in the footer. This is great although when we want to display content in a specific view it would be nice to be able to add columns so data did not simply have to be displayed as one field per one row.
22 votesWith the release of GravityView 2.34, we’ve introduced the Layout Builder, enabling you to create custom layouts with rows and columns directly in the View editor. This feature allows you to design complex, multi-column layouts without any coding.
To get started, simply select the Layout Builder as your View Type, add rows, and choose from various column configurations to suit your needs. You can easily rearrange sections using drag-and-drop functionality.
We believe this new tool will enhance your experience by providing greater control over your data presentation. If you have any specific use cases or further feedback, we’d love to hear from you to continue improving GravityView.
Learn more about the feature in our announcement blog post and documentation.

Add maximum length option for text fields
Add an option to limit how much info is displayed.
I would like to show 6 – 8 lines and then have a way for the viewer to click a “view more” link to expand the info.

Choose what fields are editable
Add a field setting for whether or not the field should be editable.
You should be able to choose whether the field is editable by role, similar to the "Make visible for" dropdown field.
The setting should also be able to be overridden using WordPress filters so that more advanced configurations can override visibility.
8 votesThis is now possible in GravityView 1.5, just released!
Thanks for your feedback on this functionality.

Create different css classes for labels vs. content
It would be very helpful to have all labels be assigned a class (e.g. gv-label) and entry content assigned another class (e.g. gv-content) so that it would be easier to style both. As of now, the only way to style seems to be to use the <h1,2,3,4, etc> and <p> selectors, but this is not ideal. And, a significant problem (maybe more a bug than a feature request), in the footer there are no formatting elements at all so no selectors to style the label differently from the content -- which makes the label run into the content and so…

Send a Message to Individual Entries
It would be great to be able to send a message to a client within the directory on the single entry view.
13 votesYou can do this by embedding a Gravity Forms form into a Custom Content field.
Here’s example code, where the Send Message form ID is 3 and the Email field ID is 4 (the email where the message will be sent):
[gravityform id=“3” field_values=“email={Email:4}”]

calculations
I would love to see value totals for my forms. I am currently using it as a sales commission log for my staff and would love to have totals for each month by each sales person without having to export to excel to do a sum total.
9 votesWe have a plugin called Math by GravityView that allows for advanced calculations using Gravity Forms entry data.
The Math plugin is currently only available as part of the GravityView Galactic license. You can learn more about it here: https://gravityview.co/extensions/math/

Add sideways scrolling
I like the vertical scrolling for long tables, but what about sideways scrolling for a table that has too many columns to fit even on a full-width page?
7 votesThis is possible by adding some custom CSS to your website! Here’s a doc showing how: http://docs.gravityview.co/article/297-how-to-make-your-table-scroll-horizontally

Edit Entry in Lightbox
I would like to see similar Lightbox functionality in Gravity View as we had in Gravity Forms Directory -- not just the ability to view an image in the lightbox, but the ability to quickly review an entire ENTRY in a lightbox.
... So that when you are viewing a table of submitted entries, you can get a quick glimpse at the details of each one within a lightbox, rather than clicking through entries one by one.
Additionally, it would be great to be able to add "View Previous / Next Entry" links to the Single Entry View.
33 votesHi 👋 Zack here from GravityKit, makers of GravityView. GravityView is the best way to display, edit, and export Gravity Forms entries on your website.
This is a status update about a feature that you have requested: The ability to edit entries in a lightbox in GravityView. This has been—for years!—the top requested feature, and I'm very pleased to share that it's completed.
Viewing and Editing entries in a lightbox was added to GravityView 2.29. You can read about the feature here.
Please respond with any questions. Check it out and let us know what you think!

Include a link or embed your documentation
I'm sure this is on your list, but there's no link to your extensive documentation from within the plugin. I stumbled on your zendesk docs by clicking a random ow.ly link in your twitter stream that looked promising. Can you add or embed the docs?

I want to choose a template for my view
It looks like the view is displayed using the 'blog' template. I'd like to be able to change it to use the 'page' template, or just roll my own. Normally, that's an option when editing a wordpress page/post, but not here. Can you please add that?

Entry-Specific Views
I wish to have the ability to create views that are filtered for specific field. For instance, I have entries that show courses of A, B, C. I wish to create a view that shows ONLY (A) entries, and another view that shows ONLY (B) entries, and so on so forth.
